Now that Computex has come and gone, it's time to sit back and enjoy the peace and quiet. Glad to have things back to normal, but the excitement of running around and talking with all of Taipei's international guests will be missed.
Here's an article that I posted over on The Neon Rush (CNET) if you're interested in a behind the scenes look.
Also, here's a nice collection of Computex Showgirls, always a fan favorite. (Cameron and the gang over at TweakTown also made a cool HD video of some of the nicer show attractions.)
Okay, enough perving around la. On the technology front, the Computrend area in Hall 1 had cool stuff. Don't ask me what bluetooth sunglasses really do for you when you're riding your bike, but they sure looked funny.
And just down the lane from our booth there was this company, Ortery. The founder is a doctor and he spent 8 years developing a 100% automated machine for taking product photos. He only had a small booth at Computex but there was a crowd everytime I walked by.
Here are some examples of what the Ortery photobooth does.
I don't have Silverlight installed, but he said with MS Silverlight you can zoom in and he demonstrated this at the booth. Adobe Flash doesn't allow this kind if interaction.
Pretty neat stuff, and his gear is all patented. He also said there are military and government agencies using it.
